The Idea

I thought of this photo essay after reading a book called A Year of Mornings, in which two people, separated by a large distance, took one photo every morning for each other. The photos were of ordinary things – forks and windows and breakfast dishes. My idea is to look more closely at the things I pass each morning, to avoid starting my day with a dash to the bus. I’ll take a few photographs, keep one, and post it here for you to see.

Technical details: I’m using the camera on my Nokia 6301. It’s pretty good as cell phones go, but it’s still a phone.

Great photos. I used to live at Hemlock and 13th, and unfortunately seemed to have missed all the beautiful details that you have captured. Somehow you have managed to make concrete, drizzle, and even the McDonalds building look appealing. Thanks for sharing!
