To anyone who’s come by the blog: Thanks, first of all. And sorry: in mid-September my Nokia cell phone got wet and the camera function, with which I took these pictures, conked out. I suppose I should just go get another cheap camera, but the beauty of this exercise was having no need of extra equipment. There’ll be a gap before Walking Slowly picks up again, but I’ll get to it.

Six-thirty. A storm sewer on Broadway in bright sunlight.

Six thirty. A telephone pole, looking up.

Ten to seven. A tipped-over chocolate milk in a planter near the bus stop.

Ten past six. Drops on a car roof, streetlight like a rising sun.

Quarter to six. Looking down the alley, one east of Granville.

Quarter past six. The alley behind the McDonald’s. Artificial light.

Just after seven. Looking out to Broadway & Granville.

Twenty past six on Sunday. Looking down a silent Hemlock.

Twenty to six. An east-facing dumpster. The wall behind lightens.

Quarter to six. The adult bookstore at Hemlock & Broadway.

Ten past six. A taxi idles in front of the Royal Bank building at Granville & Broadway.

Five to six. A sign on Hemlock. Call Kristen; she’ll know what happened.
